FAQs:
Q: What is a Drop-On Carrier?
A: A Drop-On Carrier is a practical, sturdy, carrier system that can
transport anything from bicycles and skiis to golf clubs and riding
tackle on the back of a vehicle. A number of accessories are available
including two sizes of storage box, ski and board racks. The system is
safe and sturdy as it simply drops onto the existing tow bar, making it
simple to install and capable of carrying a large range of items,
adapting to your seasonal lifestyle.
Q: Why is it called Drop-On?
A: Because the system does exactly that – it drops onto an existing tow
bar, which makes it much more secure and sturdy than the strap-on
systems, much easier to use than roof systems and is easier to fit than
most other tow ball systems.
Q: How many bikes can a Drop-On
Carrier take?
A: That depends on which product you buy. The Drop-On system has two
types of carriers, one made from steel, the latest from strong but
lightweight aluminium. Both can comfortably take up to four bikes,
depending on the fittings purchased. Other brands claim to take four
bikes but in reality often struggle with weight restriction and other
safety issues.
Q: Who makes the product?
A: The new product range has been designed and manufactured by Drop-On
Carrier’s parent company, the DCM group, which is based in Coventry and
has a strong background of engineering innovation.
Q: What about safety standards?
A: The new Drop-On Carrier range conforms to all relevant British
Safety Standards. We are so confident that the product is safer than
its competitors, that we are currently talking to both RoSPA and
Thatcham to gain accreditation for the product as soon as possible.
Q: Is the carrier just for bikes?
A: Certainly not. Drop-On is a carrier system that adapts to your
lifestyle. There are many components and accessories to allow you to
take advantage of outdoor pursuits all year round. There are sturdy,
lockable boxes that can carry golf clubs, tools, horse and fishing
tackle, sailing and scuba gear and mountaineering equipment. The
carrier rack can also accommodate wheelchairs, suitcases, hay bales,
furniture. The potential uses for the Drop-On Carrier system is almost
endless.
Q: Where can I buy a Drop-On carrier?
A: We are currently expanding our list of distributors which will be
listed on this site soon.
